On 14th September 2025, COEP Technological University and its Alumni Association celebrated a historic day with two significant events. The Alumni Association organized Engineer’s Day and the 33rd edition of the prestigious COEP Abhiman Awards, recognizing exceptional alumni for their contributions in engineering, industry, and leadership. Simultaneously, COEP Tech inaugurated its newly constructed Central Library and Computer Engineering Building, offering modern digital infrastructure, advanced research facilities, and collaborative learning spaces designed to support over 4,000 students and foster innovation. The celebrations were honored by the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Chandrakant Patil, Minister of Higher & Technical Education, along with eminent dignitaries, university officials, alumni, and industry leaders. Shri Fadnavis highlighted COEP’s critical role in shaping India’s engineering talent and emphasized the importance of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing. Shri Patil reflected on India’s educational legacy and encouraged the effective use of CSR funding for enhancing research, infrastructure, and student opportunities. Shri Bharat Gite, President of the Alumni Association, showcased key initiatives like mentorship programs, scholarships, and student internships, which bridge the gap between academia and industry. He also acknowledged significant alumni contributions that made the new infrastructure possible. Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Vice Chancellor of COEP Tech, emphasized the university’s alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and its focus on multidisciplinary education and research. Together, these events marked a proud milestone in COEP’s 175-year journey, reinforcing its vision to nurture engineers who will contribute meaningfully to India’s development and technological leadership by 2047.
